brendan monroe

deer

ahh....weekends. i had a particularly nice weekend full of ac time, a new haircut and excellent retail therapy (thanks, pema!). i hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are starting your weeks off with a smile. this week i wanted to take some time out to mention some artists whose work i've been intrigued by lately. i'm going to spread them out during the week, but to start off- here's brendan monroe.

brendan monroe is an la-based artist who lives and works in an underground basement in chinatown. his work can be a bit creepy at time (ok, a lot creepy), but there's a certain mood to her work that i can't get enough of. it's eery but the drawings have a sense of the surreal that i just love. i'm particularly fond of his prints- they're beautiful. so, check out brendan's work here. and if you're in brooklyn stop by cog and pearl to see it in person.
