treehugger shout out

the gang at treehugger liked this back in august and i JUST saw it in dwell this month, i think. man am i behind on eco design. danish group papcorn created a dining set (for light meals) in compostable plastic. they consider it "a sensious interplay between aestetic design and care for the enviroment". i consider it cool. you can eat from a it as many times as you like and then compost it. kinda neat, i think. for more info on papcorn, click here. for treehugger's super scoop click here.

Ooops...papkorn is Danish...
i was given some of these from a cool store in madrid. celluloid something or other. they are really cool looking and have nice packaging. not so good with heat unfortunately...if they get
hot from the food and you touch them with your hands, they deform.
let's hope that they get some volume sales going so they can get their pricing down. i think they were 12€ for a few of them. ouch.
