Hey there, Grace! I made me way over to the Old Stone House a few minutes of nine last night, but the place was locked as tight as a drum; no one at Perch, either...Hmmm...maybe the poor weather discouraged takers. I was hoping to meet you and trade Paris design destination tips.... Next time!
Signed,
A fellow design fan (AKA John in P. Slope)

Hey there, Grace, thanks for the reply! Yes, all the doors were locked and, oddly, I couldn't see that lights were on anywhere (perhaps ya'll were in an interior room) or that the A/C was on.....(I hope to some kinda god that A/C or sumpthin' to dehumidify was in effect last night!) Well, next time we'll meet. Your name came up in conversation with a design writer at the Phaidon Design Encyclopedia book launch party at Conran's, and I thought it'd be good to meet you, being that I've been enjoying your blog (I'm a new convert) and trying to make time to add comments to your trend notes (i.e., the "facets"--you're so right; I was also thinking about those Ted Muehling "tortoise shell" glass pieces for Steuben and that popular faceted vase at MoMA last year). Anyway, we shall meet soon, jointly covet that comely desk from Brklyn Designs (from the dude with the Mayan first name...can't recall it off the toppa my head), swap Paris fave pastry joints, and riff on IKEA...lol...Cheers!
