SUCKIEST SUCK THAT EVER SUCKED [gun vases*suck uk] ok. maybe they're not that bad, but suck uk is definitely the most overrated design team. ever. well, in my opinion. and well, it's my blog so my opinion is the only one that matters. hahahaha!

i just think these guys seem like super smarmy british guys- you know, the type that would hang out at a pub and make lewd comments at girls. ick. i just think the guns thing is soooo cheesy. i mean, they made a cool bottle opener but, so what?

And isn't it an old idea stolen from The Face (or was it dazed and confused, I can't recall)... I seem to remember they had a cover featuring exactly the same thing in the early 90s.

Having said that, The Face probably stole it from someone else anyway.

My old school mate works there, and we went to a private school, and one thing we learn about is hipocrits, that fact your making lewd coments about suck uk making lewd coments at girls is just astonishing, think before the PMT kick is aight. (appologies for lewd spelling mistakes)

uh, gotta point something out here...by putting flowers in the barrels of guns suck-uk is not stealing ideas or motifs off of anyone. Remeber that whole hippie movement? you know, 1960-1970? the whole defeat violence with peace thing? Please tell me you remember the iconic photographs of the time? While not blatant, I think suck-uk has made an interesting representation of that very concept. There is more to design than simply "looking trendy."

lol. are you from suck uk?

this sounds exactly like that newsletter they sent out about me.

you should read the boston globe's article from last week about how the gun look in design has gone too far.

i happen to hate it and think it's terribly passe.

to each his own.

d*s

(psst, who said anything about stealing?)

Am shocked you can make such rude remarks about the people at SuckUK - i mean that is like us having a swipe at the americans for eating your McDonalds, what next from you guys, some clever comment about our teeth - oh please stop, i almost cracked a smile !

suck uk are great designers, and they're also quite eloquent, not needing to describe EVERYTHING as 'waaaay coool', or 'soooo cute' like some suckers out there.

and, hang on a minute, are YOU a designer? - no, just a SPONGE, don't knock what you can't do pal.
as for your design tastes, mmm, a little mixed:
lace tea lights - oh yeah, that's AMAZING design.

While it is your blog and right to say what you feel, I can't help feel it's a bad idea to bash designers that you don't know, especially to bang on about 'smarmy British-guys..' If you took time to read their website you can see it is also owned by a woman. I am an Englishman living in Vancouver, Canada and I happen to think that the Suck-UK line offers way edgier designs than some of the elitist crap out there. Suck-UK has never forgotten it's street roots and this is appealing to me in a very straight laced North American society. While the gun vases are not my favourite Suck-UK piece I am not sure what it is about that particular design that makes you think they are over-rated? Did they make any claims themselves?

Soak that up. See you in the bar!

You guys sound like a bunch of bitter Brits. Maybe if your designers designed instead of complained they'd do better here in the US.
