i like pretty jewelry. therefore, i like ryan kundrat's work. a risd grad with an eye for hoops, ryan creates designs that are simple, urban and chic. can't get enough of em. check out ryan's stuff here. enjoy.
From the moment I saw Ryan's earrings I knew I *had* to have them. They're definitely "simple, urban and chic". Re: the person who wonders if the cost is worth it? Yes it definitely is. It's really not expensive at all considering how often I wear my earrings (almost every day) and how much I love them (a lot). I also think of it this way -- I am a big fan of supporting artists and people who make things by hand, rather than buying an item that's been mass produced and designed by committee. There's also something really great about knowing (or at least seeing face to face) the artist who personally created the jewelry you're wearing. This will sound trite, but Ryan is a nice guy -- really. I know his jewelry line will be really successful. --Lisa S. Kim
I ordered two pairs of Ryan's earrings a few days after I saw this. I couldn't get the awesomeness of the design out of my mind and knew I had to have a pair (or two)!
Grace, you really provide a great service through this blog... highlighting great, innovative, modern craftspeople and designers who those of us who don't work in design (but seek it out!) may never come across.
