help find this sponge a home.....

hi everyone. this might be a kind of silly post, but i figured, what the heck? ac and i are apartment hunting at the moment and haven't come up with much yet. seeing as i'm always the worrying one who assumes nothing will appear if it hasn't already in the last week, i decided to enlist the help of my design-loving friends out there. if anyone happens to know of a great 1br apartment that's in the boerum hill/cobble hill/carroll gardens area, won't you please drop me a line (or even williamsburg if it's near some trees)? nothing too fancy, as i live on a wee sponge budget and don't have as much money to spend on my home as i'd like. or if you know of a great no-fee broker i'd gladly take tips on that too! thanks so much you guys, i keep getting bummed out by the lack of selection on craigslist and the village voice but i'm keeping faith that we can find something low budget and non-broker. thanks so much for your help everyone!
xoxo,

i am sure you may have already but ......have you tried craigslist.org?
Only Brooklyn? If you want cheap rent, and still be close to the city, maybe consider Downtown Jersey City.
Originally 3 years ago when I was looking for a apt, I looked in Brooklyn too, but everything was too pricey.
So I found what I was looking for in JC.
It has brownstones, parks and great restaurants.
This is one real estate place, sometimes having no fee.

It takes about 20 min getting to the city via the Path.
And yes it does run 24 hours, many people think it doesn't. Oh and its cheaper than the subway.
I'm only paying 900 for a 1 br, with dishwasher, and washer and dryer on every floor.
Good luck.
Hi
My friends in Carrol Gardens have a one bedroom plus den available in their brownstone. Its $1650. Interested?
oh man, damn damn damn. it sounds great, but it's sadly way above our price limit. thanks so very much for the tip though- sounds great.
thanks again
