siggy siggy

i stopped by the sigg booth at the gift fair last week and thought these little bottles were cute. they're sorta like sport bottles for design geeks. i love it. i couldn't get more pictures, but if you check out the site you can see the full line. they have a bunch of cute models with photographs of ducks and bunnies. i know it sounds juvenile but it's actually quite cool. so, check em out and see what you think...

Before making these beautiful (and very robust) bottles, Sigg was also making cooking pans. Sometime in the late 70's, they produced a series of pans that were decorated with brown and orange dots (similar to the ones decorating your site). Almost every household in Switzerland has at least one of these, my mom has two that she is still using daily.
With the coming back of 70's-80's style we have seen these last years, such objects are now priceless! A couple of years ago, Tyler Brûlé's magazine "Wallpaper" published a special issue about Switzerland. The Sigg orange and brown dots pan was among the first of his top-100 stylish swiss items :-)
Too bad I can't find a picture of it on Google. Maybe I'll take one of my mom's pans the next time I go visit her!
So I'm glad that Sigg didn't forget where they came from and made a dotted bottle as well (I had never seen it, thanks!).
Cool site, by the way.
