I HATE BROKERS

im in a bit of a bum mood today. first i "lost" my purse and tore up the apt looking for it only to have it be in the most obvious place. im such a moron. then i find out that the dream apartment we saw this weekend (and apppied for and wrote a down payment check for and were told was practically ours) was not at all as it was advertised. it turns out it was WAY above our price range and it was totally unprofessional to have shown it to us. it's like dangling a gorgeous eames la chaise in front of your face and saying it's on sale for 200 bucks and then have it actually turn out to be 1200 bucks instead.

so, consider this my SHOUT OUT OF THE WEEK: NEVER EVER EVER USE BROOKLYN LANDMARK REALTY. I'M CALLIN YA OUT, BROOKLYN LANDMARK! YOU'RE JERKS! AND UNPROFESSIONAL JERKS AT THAT!

so there, i feel a little better. i mean, ugh, she dragged us out there, didn't have the keys to the right apartment, wouldn't ask anyone until i told her to ask the super, then she didn't know anything about anything, but insisted everything was fine and that she'd call when she had the move in date. what a wench. speaking of wenches- shout out to the jerk who left the retarded comment under the pencil sharpener post. seriously dude. i'm glad people like you are on their side and not mine. i was gonna erase the post but i decided to preserve their idiocy for everyone to see and laugh at.

ok i promise to be back in a bit with a much better mood. ugh. monday.

I had to post after following a link on Brownstoner- I can totally relate! We were outright lied to by several Brooklyn brokerages we found through Craigslist, all during a period where we were staying with my mom with 2 small kids. These brokers knew we were desperate and short on time, yet they continued to jerk us around and not return our calls. We signed no less than 3 fake leases, left deposits that we had to fight to get back when the "landlord changed his mind". We were told the apartments were rented, and then shown the same apartments two weeks later. We are still mystified as to why they chose to let them sit vacant rather than rent to us. It was such a nightmare, and I almost got fired for not having a place to live! It was horrible. Good luck, and I hope you found something.

there should be a special place in hell for these brokers. I've just returned from checking out an apartment in fort greene and the broker called me to do his panic call that someone else had a lead on the apartment and that I had to get my paperwork in right away.

I calmly told him that he was interrupting a meeting and I would have to call him back.

I hate the fear they feel they must instill in you for their 12 - 15 per cent.

because I have manners, I refuse to call any of these professionals on their tactics.

but in my mind I stab their tongues with forks.
