a fortes design
busy-being is a great little online boutique, through which i've discovered a ton of great designers. this time, busy-being brought a fortes design to me- via an email from ms. a fortes herself, janessa bautista.
janessa's work is simple, graphic and has a wonderfully organic line to it (ala lotta jansdotter). her pieces are playful and elegant at the same time- each pattern (there are four to choose from) uses basic lines and simple designs to create an overall effect that is earthy but still decidedly urban.
when she's not creating gorgeous pillows (yes, i know i have a major pillow fetish), janessa is riding her bike around new york, enjoying the sunny summer weather. this summer she'll be teaching a course on natural dyeing at the university of oregon, where she graduated with a degree in textile design. more info on a fortes design right here.

Beautiful work. Kind of reminds me of the work done at inleafdesign.com.
