hafazim

i found this cool israeli site via budget living (one of my fav mags, despite the fact that i can't stand their new image. i liked the old funkier funnier image. it was more in line with cheap goods.). they deliver to the us and their delivery rates are, for the most part, quite reasonable (they also have a store in vancouver). isn't the internet cool? you can order goods from an israeli home goods store. too cool.
hafazim is an israeli company that produces and markets home accessories. their name comes from the hebrew word, "hafatzim" that has two divergent branches of meaning: one is "objects," "things" or "belongings"; the other is "wishes" or "desires."
my favorites from the site are some beautiful cast iron cookware pieces (pricey, but not overwhelmingly pricey. love the chartreuse), cute yellow trash cans that could be used in any number of ways (trash cans, laundry bins, funky outdoor planters, toy containers...) and a great cherry lounger that budget living featured (in canada only at the moment). most of the pieces are affordable (although obviously shipping will add a fair amount to the bill) and well designed, so click on by and take a look. it's always fun when the internet brings far away places a little bit closer.

i don't like Budget Living's new look either!
i know, isn't it a bummer that they're abandoning their fun, funky look? the new cover is so sparse and like, "look how slick we are". i hate it. i heard like 8 of their editors left when they got a new director there..hmm...food for thought.
anyway, i'm bummed they picked a look that doesn't match the spirit of the magazine.

i was surprised to read in the last issue that the editor-in-chief is leaving. Is that common, for an editor to come in, start a magazine and then leave so soon?
hmm...well. magazines have a lot of turnover sometimes...but in this case the head left and the editors followed..so, well, you can guess that had something to do with it.
i still love budget living, but am so bummed about the new look. boo!

sorry i removed your post because this is a design site, not a place for political arguments.

Hope their store isnt build on Palestinian land where its people have been shoved away to another place. Or I can even imagine something worse.
Boycott Israeli goods, its all red handed with Palestinian blood
