in_exhibit1

"in celebration of the noguchi exhibit at the seattle art museum, velocity is having an installation of the furniture, accessory, and lighting design work of isamu noguchi. the exhibit will highlight the ways in which the renowned sculptor sought to make sculpture useful in everyday life through his designs for interiors. during the 1940s and 1950s, noguchi created furniture, lighting, and interiors that reflected the biomorphic imagery of his contemporary sculpture. after his death in 1988, noguchi’s influence continues to impact modern design, and his designs---most notably the free form sofa and the akari lighting---have never been more popular."

all items from the exhibit are available for purchase at velocity online and in their seattle showroom. hooray!
