stained glass

i never really thought i liked stained glass, accept in an art history way, you know, churches, cathedrals, next slide, next slide...but i actually really like this contemporary stained glass available (pre-made or commission) at annabuilt.com (i like the colorgrids).
it's part mondrian, part modern. i love the colors and the idea of having a tiny corner of my room filled with beautiful squares of colored light. pricing is available via email, but i think it's a really cool idea if you're in the market for a way to add some color to your apt or house. i know stained glass isn't new, but i like this contemporary take on it. and in a design industry that seems hell bent on putting out more bent ply and "ironic talking pieces" in your home (lookin at you, philippe starck), this is a wonderfully cheery, colorful and un-ironic piece that will add happiness for years to come. more info at annabuilt.com (annabuilt will be at renegade craft fair, too!)

Hi,
Long time reader, first time commenter. Thank you for your site. (I'm a low-budget gal with big-budget tastes like you.)
Don't know if I'm violating anything here (feel free to erase my comment if so), but I thought you might also like my friend Linda's stained glass stuff.
See it at

She makes these amazing lanterns and lightboxes.
(Now I have to go tell her I posted this here.)
Thanks-
a fan
