it's a sunny day, i'm headed to lush and all is right with the world. and to top it off fast company mentioned me in their "more intelligent design" feature. yes, they did call me over-enthusiastic and sugary, but hey, i've been called worse. hope you all have a lovely afternoon and i'll see you in the morning. just an aside, i don't actually work at vitra, just a firm that does their pr consulting. common misunderstanding.

yeah, i heard that! but i haven't seen it- is it on stands in the states at all?

i'm not sure if it's available in the states. i picked it up here in amsterdam.
I hate the idea of "over-enthusiastic"- it's ridiculous to designate appropriate levels of enthusiasm. Your lovely blog drew me in for a variety of reasons, but the reason it's become one of my favorites is because of the sincerity of your passion. You're honest about pricing, and how dificult it is to love beautiful things and not afford them, but you nonetheless showcase objects over a broad spectrum of prices, styles, and availabilities! You have a wonderful, wonderful site that people love.
And "sugary?" That's condescending and off-point. It's somewhat akin to saying, "your little barbie dream website's cute, girly-girl."
Keep on doing what you're doing. This is the first thing I look at when I come in each morning. (Yes, I am a bad employee!)

Of course, we meant "over-enthusiastic and sugary" in only the best of possible ways. ^_^ We, too, have been described as boosterish, overly optimistic, and pollyanna. No harm, no foul.

i was actually ok with it. i've been called a lot worse, so hey, i'm happy to be called sugary or enthusiastic- i think the design industry is full of hipper-than-thou types, so i'm proud to be the happy, over-eager dork.
