ohhh, nate
oprah's super cute design guru, nate berkus, has teamed up with linens 'n things (that 'n really bugs me, don't know why) to debut a line of home, bed and kitchen products that work with any budget and decor.
the chicago based interior designer started nate berkus associates in 1995 at ripe old age age of 24 and started to build himself a reputation as a designer to watch. and then oprah found him. the rest is history. (man can that woman make or break you)
nate's collection is a series of textiles, diningware and home accessories that combine modern lines and colors with a more traditional aesthetic. what's nice about the line is first, its cost- most of us can afford the majority of these pieces. second, the line is subtle enough to blend into a number of existing styles, from the most modern decor to the most rustic country home. i'm quite fond of the chunky knit throw (i'd love to nap with one right now), which is a mere $80 at linens 'n things. but there's plenty to choose from, so check out the whole collection and pre-order right here (they will be ready to ship soon...). [thanks for the tip, michael!]

While I'll admit Nate looks a little like Zach Morris (which pulls at my adolescent heart strings) Why does that beautiful chunky knit throw have to be synthetic? --why must something be synthetic to be affordable? Zach, you're breaking my heart. Thats the problem with Target too, great design but everything is synthetic.
TOTALLY agree about the synthetics -- seems unhealthy somehow to be surrounded by so many things that aren't made out of natural materials.
Maybe it's because it's grammatically incorrect...
Shouldn't it really be 'n' ?
Actually, there's nothing wrong with "and," plain and simple. Or an ampersand. Why they gosta be cute with it?

Grammatically incorrect in saying using "unhealthy", when it should have been "unhealthful." Only living things can be healthy. Being near a synthetic throw may or may not be unhealthful.
Sorry, but that very popular mistake is one that I find particularly annoying.
