parsons grad, julie progin designed her "dialogue box" with the chinese tradition of shared meals in mind. designed as, "a stackable and transportable lunchbox of bowls, plates and utensils, the circular linking formation and nesting of forms emphasizes wholeness and community within users". abstracted chinese floral designs are on the surface are combined with interconnecting forms that hark back to the seventies.
ms. progin's work is informed by her background of living in hong kong for 17 years, as well as her work with the non-profit organization, museum of chinese in the americas. what i'm most blown away by is the sheer beauty of the piece- each object beautiful, colorful and modern. i think ms. progin's work shows incredible potential and i hope to see much more from her as she continues to create new projects. you can contact ms. progin right here. [thanks to design student (and d*s correspondent) vincent lee for passing along ms. progin's work]

I love your site and come often for visual inspiration. I was wondering if you've ever considered posting pics of your own place in your blog. I would love to see how you've integrated all your design knowledge into your home. Thanks for a great read!
