recyclobile

3

if i ever left brooklyn, i think it would have to be for san francisco. it just seems like beautiful things flow endlessly from that city. this time it's beeline- a sf-based modern design company that makes beautiful hand-made mobiles. beeline's "recyclobile" made me smile the second i saw it- full of color and movement, this gorgeous mobile is handmade using recycled lamp materials, hand-stained fiberglass, and filament. the colors are gorgeous and i can only imagine how lovely it is with that beautiful late afternoon light shining through it. available online at elsewares in 4 colors: alma, sun, shell and pacific.

Check out Pae White's work: http://www.hammer.ucla.edu/exhibitions/50/works_1.htm
She has been doing similar things for a while now.
While I think this mobile is nice, I also think it rips off her work in a big way....

beautiful work. however, i think this look has been around since the seventies. probably not with the same materials, but i know my grandmother had a mobile very much like both of these years and years ago.

(however, i like both of these mobiles, pae's and beeline's better)
