carl martinez hardware

artist carl martinez was born in washington, d.c. but relocated to his mother's native iran for 12 years. there he studied market artisans and learned from their work. inspired by iran's style, colors and architecture, martinez discovered his passion for handcrafting beautiful objects. after the iranian revolution forced martinez' family to return to the us, martinez traveled to new mexico with his father where he earned a degree in architecture. afterwards he headed to miami to create furniture. after a move to nyc a few years later, martinez learned welding and jewelry making and discovered his passion for hardware design. now, martinez has created a unique collection of decorative hardware that is truly a beauty to behold. while the website hasn't yet uploaded images of his entire collection, you can sneak a peek at his work online, right here. each piece is a tiny work of art and is definitely worth checking out. enjoy!
