[the following post on swedish jewelry designer, efva attling was written by d*s reader, my berglund, who was kind enough to mention d*s in an interview he did with a swedish paper this weekend. thanks, my!]

efvaabsolut

Former model, Efva Attling, who was spotted and discovered by Eileen Ford, now earns her living as a succesful jewlery designer in Sweden. Efva is know for her playful titles and wording she uses to name her pieces. Titles like, ”Human”, ”From Here to Eternity” and ”Wild at Heart” give an extra dimension to her jewelery. Known for her celebrity clientele like Madonna (Madonna has The Human ring and the Homo Sapiens dog tag necklace), Jennifer Aniston, Kylie Minogue and Iman, Efva also designs eyewear for Scandinavian Eyewear. She launched her first collection of optical frames and sunglasses in the fall of the same year. She made one pair of eyewear in complete sterling silver, a numbered edition only in 925 pieces.

Efva was recently asked to design a bottlepourer in sterling silver for Absolut vodka. She designed a bottlepourer and a shotglass with the signifigant Absolut A, but a twisted A to make it the Attling way. In addition, this year Orrefors offered Efva a partnership as an external designer, an offer she accepted with great excitement. She will design crystal glass in different forms. You can find more information on Efva and her work right here.

[d*s comment: i wish her signature wasn't so visible on a lot of her pieces...]
