welcome, washington post readers!
welcome, washington post readers! design*sponge was thrilled to be mentioned in the paper this morning, along with my fellow design bloggers, mocoloco, apartment therapy and funfurde. d*s is celebrating the holidays this month by providing a gift guide organized by pricing. this week features great gift ideas under $50 (70 ideas so far...) and will features items under $150 next week, and so on...
however, today i am moving apartments from one section of brooklyn to another so i'll be back tomorrow with at least 30 new ideas. i promise to list at least 100 great under $50 gift ideas before the week ends. thanks for stopping by!
[d*s update: in the new year look for a whole new *sponge: a redesign is on the way, new features, the much sought after category buttons and a whole section devoted to a special topic that's dear to my heart. also, the belated d*s contest will take place in january of 2006 to celebrate the launch of the new d*s. and...a fun journal project i'm working on to document some real life diy-projects of the home kind]

Please, please post pics when you get everything set up in the new digs.
I'm looking for a redesign, too...who is your designer, please?

"a fun journal project i'm working on to document some real life diy-projects of the home kind"
This was in the vein of what I suggested before, I'm glad you finally decided the advice was OK.
Design*sponge is such a fantastic resource and I'm thrilled that my city's leading paper recognizes it!
Good luck with the move and can't wait to see all the surprises lined up for 2006 - Alana
Hi! I am a Washington Post Home Section Junkie. I was quite surprise to see an article on blogging this morning, especially since I've been focused on developing a design blog of my own. I will definitely be following your blog. Congrats on your move;)
congratulations Grace! can't wait to see the new d*s!
Good luck on your move. Your press is great, congratulations!
grace--thanks so much for the inspiration. your blog is so helpful and enlightening. 99% of the things you post are things i would never come across on my own. i am in search of large scale wall art. if you come across some in your surfing, can u post it?
thanks and good luck with the move (out and in)
thanks so much, guys!
we're officially in the apt...sort of. turns out a lot of our furniture doesn't fit through the hallway to get into our bedroom and living room so we get to disassemble everything to see if we can get it through...fun!
anyway, will be blogging the reno process soon...will start the feature in jan once the holidays have settled down.

[ps: does anyone know how i can find that yahoo daily wire thing? thanks!]
though i did not see the yahoo positing, the daily wire is a free subscription from yahoo. On the website it says
"Find out what's new on the Web with the Yahoo! Daily Wire. Get three new and noteworthy web sites, a Yahoo! Pick, and plenty of links to interesting starting points."
the link is http://dir.yahoo.com/new/. look for daily wire. i'm not sure you can search it for content .
actually, the listings for the daily wire are here:
http://picks.yahoo.com/picks/
congrats again... i absolutely love your site!
Tha's right, give d*s her PROPS.

ah! hey there tuques player!
how did you guys finish this season? the unicorns battled fiercely for second to last place i think. ahah, rough season.
d*s :)
Alright! :)
Tuques ended up better than our next-to-last finish... 9th overall, we won the loser's bracket over the rehabs... (many things best left unsaid here).
Looks like you-nicorns did aight! 11th. Nothing to sneeze at... Like errbody says, who wants to be PFR?

you took the words right out of my mouth. i mean, who'd want to play on a team with ant? he's like a walking time bomb. he pushed a female member of our team up against the metal gate last year during a game and then blamed it on her saying she pushed him. ugh. hockey.
