ceiling art *
i'm a sucker for a good ceiling medallion, and i've been looking for the perfect ones for our apt lately so i thought i'd share my finds. these came from architectural depot.com and they have a huge selection available, as well as some that come in two pieces for easier assembly. i just love the contrast between a nice modern pendant and an ornate ceiling medallion. i'm thinking something like this with this. most medallions under $100 and under $50 depending on size. click here for the full collection. have fun!

Oh I am so enamoured with the NEW LOOK d*s...so pretty :D!! yay, and well done!....also loving the ceiling roses' (as we call them here in the UK)..really lovely!
I was surprised to find out that the crown moulding in a friend of mine's place was made from styrofoam... (These people are high-rollers). They said when it's up on the ceiling, you don't notice it, and it can be painted the same as plaster or wood or whatever...
Worth a try if it's a rental apartment!! hehehehe
(are all the words in my post spelled correctly?)
love the look of the new blog. brilliant design in itself. clean and clear lines. goes really nice on the eyes.
i was actually just on ebay here in germany the other day, looking and bidding on a few of these. i have one already in stryofoam as well as the trimmings which i used to line a wardrobe and shelf in my workspace, but then i saw the ones on ebay, made with plaster.
perfect for my new faux chandelier i just bought for the bedroom. now only wishing my ceilings were a tad higher to really show it off.

I like the Lulworth lamp with the middle medallion. Or the Hornsea with the right one -- both lamp and medallion have the 4 points which go together in a nice mix-matchy way. Are those medallions difficult to install? How do you do it?
Hahaha. Funny seeing you interested in something I sell. I love your site btw. Check this out:
