curtain call *

i'm trying to decide between various marimekko patterns for our curtains. they're not cheap, but they won't take all my savings ($42 per yard). i'm drawn to these purpely blues...they're sort of cool and i'm trying to pick warm colors, but i can't help it. i love cool blues and purples. i really suggest checking out their collection if you'd like to add some color to your apt. i may even buy some to reupholster our dining room chairs (if ac lets me). click here for the full selection online (they offer online shopping and shipping).

GRACE!
I trust that you have access to good samples. I was thisclose to getting kastehelmet for my walls, when the sample arrived and it was not the same colors AT all as appeared online.
But I dig your desire to put marimekko in your home...
i love the tree pattern. my favorite colorway is the orange/white. i think they'd be great for curtains...
if you love it so much, I'd say go for it, Grace. If you can't use it as a curtain, you can always frame it :) and it'd save you more money, too.
Being Finnish it's really heartwarming to see the popularity of Marimekko - it's one of those things everyone here has in one form or another and/or remembers from their childhood. And you just have to love the names of the fabrics - Lumimarjat is Snow berries, Kastehelmet is Dew pearls.
I love these fabrics too, but i would say they are definitely too thin for upholstery. Stick with the curtains though! You just have to put a backing on them.
I love marimekko fabric, too. Just wanted to let you know that if you go to a crate & barrel outlet, they carry previous seasons' display fabric @ $9 a yard.
now i haven't seen the ones you posted in an outlet, but it might be worth checking out to see if there are any others you are interested in!
I just ordered a sample of fabric from the Marimekko site and the pattern is way larger than it appears on the site... just a heads up the image may not be what they seem.
