i'm sorry. but that is completely out of control for a pillow. i appreciate great handiwork as well as the next person, but $325?

I agree. It is totally beautifully crafted, but for $325 it better be stuffed with gold thread or something.

Chain stitch is easy and quick. The designs are very beautiful, though I agree they're very overpriced.

I love to lurk around the sponge, I try to visit everyday...I am intrigued w/ the move and your documentation...I feel compelled to post.REALITY CHECK: 325.00 for a pillow!!! C'mon now! This is the real world and we are at war and, yes, we are searching for ways to our enrich our lives w/ a little beauty...But I really trust you won't don't do this again w/out a little aside that reassures us that we are still on Earth (in America, in 2006)...love ya.

Dear REALITY CHECK,
The products that are posted on this site do not have to meet YOUR criteria for what you think is "reasonable". I happen to think that the price for the Fedora Designs pillows is fair. Do I have the money to buy it right now. No. But I certainly would not dismiss it and dare to tell Grace that she should only put things on her blog that are within a certain price range. And I do not think that we need any more reminders on a daily basis that we are in America in 2006. It can be depressing enough as it is. Here's to beautiful objects that make us happy, whether they cost $3.25, $325, or $3,250....

interesting comment thread here...thanks for everyone's input.

while this is certainly above my price range, and i can definitely understand people's comments about it being possibly overpriced, i hope people will remember that d*s is about celebrating beauty in all shapes and forms, regardless of price. if you'll note the number of affordable items on the site, i hope you'll see there's plenty for everyone's budget.

just as a test, i've been putting asterisks by "affordable" posts for the last two days so people can skip straight to that if the expensive items upset them. although personally, i love to windowshop, regardless of price.
