welcome to the new d*s!
i thought the day would never come, but my little facelift is complete! thanks to help from my designer (she rules), coder and kay at site-basics (who stepped in to save the day), we're finally up and running. i'm sure there will be little glitches here and there, so please stick with us while we work out any problems that may come up. please feel free to send an email if something's not looking right on your computer. be sure to check out the mini-trends to your left (that will change every week), the new blogroll that will expand as i work on it and the buttons for the d*s shop (coming soon!) , guide and newsletter (all coming soon!).
some faq's answered: yes, a search option is coming and yes, posts arranged by categories is coming (it takes a long time to go back through all 1,773 posts and do that, but i promise i'm working on it as fast as i can)so, again, thanks for your patience and enjoy!

its definitely very pretty and tasteful, and i'm on safari too and it looks perfectly alright, there's only one thing really - the jpgs you are using are too compressed. do they really need to be this small? it is killing the little patterns with artifacts...
I'm a Mac and Firefox user and the whole page seems to be too smushed in the center of the page. The font is just a tad too small, and the photos not much better. There's just too much border. I peeked at the site on IE and this doesn't seem to be a problem. Just an fyi.
Congratulations! It's beautiful. I especially love the sea sponge and spiney urchin logo. Gorgeous!
One thing though... I liked it when your links opened in new windows ("target=new")... so we don't have to back up to get back to you.

thanks guys, im so glad you like it. :) it feels much more ME, so i'm happy. still working out the kinks, so thanks for your patience. i know it looks a little squishy on a pc, so i'm working on that, and some of the odd code errors here and there.

Wonderful redesign -- Congratulations! But I miss the dots... I know it wasn't your intention, but it became synonymous with your brand. And YES YOU ARE A BRAND NOW. Good lord woman, you've been named one of the most innovative young people in the country! And for good reason -- you have impecible taste. I can see you easily spinning this baby into a magazine! You are destined to be a mogul...
And so... I'm a bit hesitant to mention also that while the new header is beautiful... it really is... I have to tell you (please don't get mad because I do think it's just lovely) but it seems off brand -- it doesn't seem very "modern" to me.
Other than that, I love the new direction, you are a star!
