i don't know about this table. i like it, but then i have major doubts. i don't know- yuck or yay? available in clear or white for $235 and up. thoughts? i'm sure you'll all be brutally honest ;)

I say yuk. But, I'm not a fan of glass tables. It looks hard to keep clean too. Maybe if you put a cloth over it? HA!
i think it's actually plastic, but i agree with the yuk. i'm def moving to the "yuk" camp now.

Everything else you own would have to be pretty conceptual for this to make any sense. Like, if you had every single one of those slip cast disposable ceramics in your kitchen. Also, this would be so much better if it was a DIY kind of thing... You could easily buy a sheet of plexi and make this for a lot less then $235!
i kind of like it, in a velvet elvis/dogs playing poker kind of way. the only think i would not like about it is that since it's probably plastic, it might just get yellowy and not as nice looking.
It'll definitely make a good conversation piece, that's for sure. I'd say 'yay' but right now the design isn't streamlined enough to fit in with any of my furniture pieces. Maybe with a mini-chandelier hanging over it...
definitely a yuk. it reminds me of those horrible early 90's "baskets" only turned upside down.
I don't know. Maybe with the Louis Ghost chair paired with it. Probably too kitchy though.
Definitely yuck! Looks like those plastic table clothes Chinese Restaurants put on their tables for easy cleaning.

i like it, I think it's definitely unusual. Something that illicits a double take, or at least an admiring glance. It would have to be against a solid color background to work, though. Otherwise it would look too busy.
love it. i wouldnt buy it, but i think it i very good design.
i think what's throwing us all off is that it's shot on a black background. i think it could be hot in some sort of environment... probably not a home tho.
I love it! The fact that the table is a smarter, funny approach to the standard "glass top, skirted, generic table", I think is brilliant. Definitely not for everyone. Would love to see it bigger and in person.

I'm voting "yuck" as well. You expect to be able to put your legs under a table with a tablecloth but you can't with this table.
i agree with 'gino_g_gem'... if philippe starck's name was attached to it you would love it. i think it's wonderfully original, but would never put it in my house, and would probably be quite turned off if i saw it in a friends house.
I'd say yay, but there is no way it is a crystal clear as the picture shows.
I was just talking with a friend about how many of the things that we see and initially hate end up being the things we love the most. I like this table.

Acrylic is good when it is simple. This is too cute by half.
I'm with Pocheco - it's all about that double-take. I imagine putting this in a window of a shop, or just one table in a cafe (the rest covered with white tablecloths). At least a few people would let their eyes wander past, then stop, look closer, have that 'wake-up' moment in the middle of a busy day. That'd be worth the mishegas of dealing with a clear plastic (tippy-looking) table.
Definitely yuck. My first thought is "derivative design school project". It doesn't look like great design to me. More like a tired effort at things that have been done before, and done better. It also reminds me of those cheap plastic tablecloths you'd use for picnics.

I have seen the table at the last Maison & Objet fair by january. I would like to precise that this is a cofee table. So for the ones who were worried about placing legs under it, no need to worry. There were 4 tables aligned, they were not helped by the crapy design of the stand, but it looked really nice. It's designed by Essey, the ones that made the binbin. http://www.essey.com.
