see-through concrete?

sofia at contract wrote about this a while back, but d*s reader daniel reminded me it might be a cool thing to post here. litracon is light transmitting concrete that can be used in buildings, signage and even lighting. i'm not sure about it's everyday use in the average home, but it's so cool i just had to share. click here for more info.

That's a great innovative material. There's been an exhibition "Liquid Stone: New Architecture in Concrete", at the National Building Museum, in DC, a while back. This exhibit is now online. You can find it at:

And if you haven't already, you should check out Sensitile, which I think employs a similar technology for their "Terrazzo" line.
