amy ruppel podcast!

amy

another week, another podcast! today i'm talking with one of my favorite artists- amy ruppel! amy is the queen of encaustic painting and does oodles of fun side work for companies like converse (you should see the little bunny sneakers she just designed) when she's not busy designing and painting pieces that make me swoon. amy has all sorts of fun advice, tips and comments on her career in the design industry and her interview is a must-listen in my book. so, [click here] to hear the interview (it may take a moment to load) or right click on the link and save it and take it home with you on your ipod.

also, if you'd like to sign up for an rss feed for the podcasts, click here for my libsyn page (not fancy, just for storing). and as always, all podcasts will be saved right here for your listening pleasure. so, thanks again to the fantastic ms. amy ruppel for taking the time to give such a fun interview (or for sending the fun timeline shots below). be sure to check out amy's site for more of her work. [and if you'd like to receive exclusive extended podcast content, be sure to sign up for the d*s newsletter, coming out this week with exclusive content from amy ruppel, lotta jansdotter and soon- deadly squire!]

Great interview! and by the way, i'm really afraid of not knowing what's beneath me when i'm in the water (even a pool!) and i attribute that fear to seeing "Jaws" too. Ha!

Reminds me of that one day, long ago, when I was in the ocean. Must have been mega-crab season. Couldn't walk anywhere in the water without them biting my feet. :(

the podcasts are GREAT!.
I think they will only get better!
one tip: don't be afraid of being brief when you are asking the question. you will sound more confident if you just spit it out. you are becoming (if not already) famous in your own right in the design world, so don't be so star struck! just think of all of us in cyberspace who would be star struck to meet you; and how you would try to make us feel comfortable and convince us that you are just a regular person.

I know you love the New Pornographers, and if you love Indie and especially Canadian Indie, you will love the CBC Radio3 Podcasts, from Canada's beloved public radio station, http://www.cbcradio3.com/podcast/
Check out the "90-second egg" segment, which is a 90-second interview with random famous Canadians.

p.s. I hope I don't sound too critical. let me know... I think the first two podcasts are really great and I can't wait for the next ones.

no worries angelune- i know exactly what you mean. in my world these people are my idols, my absolute idols, so i often get a little nervous around them. with amy especially because i'm positively giddy (literally) about her work. i want the podcasts to feel like a nice conversation with a designer, and not too super polished, but i have a ways to go until i feel totally comfy with them, but i'm glad people seem to be enjoying them- it's been such a blast to get to talk to all these people.

I really enjoyed listening to this interview with Amy..I thought it was lovely how you added your own thoughts on what she had just said..as it shows you were listening (good interview technique! ;D), and not just worried about what to ask next..very natural! :)

On a side note..it is atually really nice to hear what you sound like!!
