hable heaven

hable

i just returned from visiting hable construction's design studio on the lower east side's chrystie street. swoon heaven. the lovely ladies of hable (erika, llubav, jorey, and sian) were kind enough to show me around their studio (a cute little space with a pink wall i loved and colorful hable swatches everywhere) and give me a glimpse into how they work as i picked through swatches (see below). if you're not familiar with hable construction you should definitely check them out- they have mastered the art of colorful, modern textiles and couldn't possibly be run by a nicer group of girls. thanks so much for letting me pop in guys!

So did you ask them if they're ever going to make their yardage available to the general public? It's killing me! I have the perfect piece that's asking to be recovered in the green beans bead pattern = \

Sounds like fun, Grace! This may be the wrong place for this question, but can you just buy their fabric at the store? I would love some curtains in one of the fabrics, and saw that Lena Corwin had upholstered a chair in Hable fabric in that piece in Glamour. But she may have more connections than I do. :)

i love to look at that photo of a pinboard covered in little swatches - that would be my idea of heaven too.

Fiona, I'm pretty sure that Hable still sells 'to the trade only' and then only through their wholesale showroom = \
