must read: living etc.

living etc copy

do you read living etc? if the answer is no i highly suggest walking- no running- to your nearest magazine stand and grabbing yourself a copy. living etc has long been my favorite european design magazine because of it's uncanny ability to combine my favorite aspects of the best american magazines with a distinctive european style. living etc reminds me of domino mooshed together with elle decor- and the result is amazing. the magazine is full of lush, colorful photography and elegant homes, but is relatively informal, fun, helpful and cutting-edge: just what i want in a magazine. it's published in europe and sources mostly european stores (a lot of habitat) but i find it endlessly inspiring and thought you guys might, too- if you don't read it already. so, anyway, grab a copy on the way home and enjoy- it's sure spark a few home project ideas. enjoy!

yeah, it's coming from abroad. but really, i think it's totally worth it. there are few magazines i pour over with such excitement. i always rip out pages and recycle the rest of the mag, but i end up ripping ALL the pages out of this one. for me, that much inspiration is worth $100 or so bucks a year. but that's just me. ;)

I have often thought that it would be a good idea to donate a subscription to a local library, use the tax write-off, and have an issue to pour over (and share) month after month...

I love Living Etc! I was living in England when its debut issue arrived, and I was so happy that it followed me back to the US! I love the modern design and affordable ideas the mag offers. I often shell out the $6.75 or so to buy a good issue at the bookstore.

Living etc is wonderful! Buy it (almost) every month. I covet the British design magazines. Italian Elle Decor? I'll have to find a way to get my hands on that one!

This is too funny - I've just been sorting, clipping and recycling my huge stack of Living Etc. mags all night! I'm doing the Apartment Therapy Cure and am in major cleaning mode. But the Living Etc. tearsheets will get a hefty folder all their own for frequent reference.

I would subscribe if it was reasonable but it's *much* cheaper to pick it up at a good newsstand or Barnes & Noble - $7.50.

I LOVE Living Etc. as well. It's now getting carried at more int'l magazine stores around NYC, including B&N as others have mentioned, so it's easier to find. I started clearing out my old Elle Decor & Met Home's (US and naturally I'm tearing out favorite pages for folders!) to start making room for my expanding L. Etc collection.
Glad to see someone pointed out Candian House & Home. It's a nice mix of articles/styles/budgets. I don't buy it every month, but almost every month!
