d*s sundays in the garden *
this sunday's garden post is all about sharing vegetable growing tips and finding some great outdoor furniture. i've been secretly wanting to grow my own veggie garden for years, but seem to kill anything i try to grow. but it looks like some of you have done it quite successfully! i thought i'd round up some links that would be helpful for starting a veggie patch, so here they are:
- tips for growing a fruit or veggie garden
- veggie garden basics
- choppin' broccoli?
- a great guide organized by veggie type
- want to grow together, check out this great guide to local community gardens!
now that you've got your garden started, you need to find some furniture that lets you relax and enjoy your handywork. so here's a little roundup of my favorite outdoor furniture- followed by some more great garden links below!
[modern garden lounging, $595-$995 at gumps]
[sitting pretty: earthenware garden stools, 2 for $245 right here]
[what a bench: lucite lounging at horchow $3259 ships in july]
[dine al fresco: $1995 for the entire set here]
[dream garden: what could be more heavenly than to rest on something like this outside? $1175 right here]

Great to see D*S bringing gardening to the design-minded. So much of the garden furniture and accessories available commercially are so visually unappealing, it's no wonder gardening is too often miscategorized as boring or twee. Thanks for helping to change that perception!
thanks, heavy petal! i post on garden design every sunday so be sure to check back every sunday if you need another garden fix ;)
