grow a note

2birds_hires

what a fun idea: artist shannon lowry runs round robin press and came up with a genius idea for celebrating friends and the environment. the next time you give or receive a card, think about shannon's grow a note cards- each card has wildflower seeds embedded right in the paper so that instead of cluttering up the house, you can "plant" the card (the paper is 100% organic, recycled paper) and grow some flowers in your garden (or plant one in a public place for a little guerilla gardening ala you grow girl). what a fantastic idea! you can contact shannon here to find a shop near you or check her out at the stationery show, booth 1377. [thanks, shannon!]

Heyyy! I used to make flower seed cards back in the early 90's! :)
They are pretty popular with the craft crowd, too.

There was also someone on "That's Clever!" on HGTV, that makes handmade paper with seeds. Instead of cards, he made his an ornament on the front of the card, that you can pull off and plant. That way you can keep the card.

I just think it's cool that so many people come up with ideas that are great..but yet none know each other. Great minds think alike!

My husband and I used grow a note paper for our wedding invitations! They turned out quite lovely and our loved ones were able to plant the card as a reminder of the fun that we had.
