back in business
hi guys! ac and i landed in ny yesterday and i'm back at the computer. our trip was fantastic and i just wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful amsterdam and paris tips (we loved the fondue in monmartre!). i have about 750 emails to go through, so i'm going to take today to unpack, go through emails and come back tomorrow with some fresh finds (they sure piled up while i was gone!). but i wanted to give you a little glimpse into our trip: here is a flickr album of some of my favorite shots from the trip. i'll have a full write up tomorrow with some shop highlights but i just wanted to thank you for all your help and all your great tips! be back tomorrow with plenty of fun new design finds. xo, d*s

Gorgeous photos!! I love that you captured the little things about travel we tend to forget...breakfast, shop display, particular flower or tree etc.
You've inspired me for my next travel photos.
thanks greg!
i'm glad you like the smaller things. i feel like for me, photos are meant to remind me of the little things that impacted me while i was there. for me, what i remembered about paris was:
1. blue sky
2. the tops of buildings
3. gorgeous food and ice cream
4. greenery
about amsterdam:
1. looking through trees to see water and rows of gorgeous houses
2. potted plants!
3. the sound of breeze and water (to come in video form soon)

welcome back, grace! felt like you were gone for ages (maybe laura and i could've formed a support group ; )
looking forward to your shop highlights.

I would've been glad to offer you a tour in Paris...but as i see the photos, you seems to have enjoyed your trip a lot :)
Hey Grace,
I'm glad you liked the fondue place. The bottles crack me up. Did you go anywhere else on the "Haunts and Jaunts" list?
i've been to that fondue restaurant w/ the wine in baby bottles, sooo awesome!! looks yummy!

we stayed at a nice place in montmartre called the tim hotel. nothing super fancy, but the view was fantastic. our hotel in the marais was nothing to write home about, neither was the one in amstedam. live and learn ;)

Who needs a swanky hotel when thers a whole city to discover! i'm an expert on thrifty travel.

we weren't able to make it sadly. we were horribly jet lagged on fri and sat and sunday was spent trying to get in as much shopping and sight seeing as possible. then we forgot that that monday was a holiday so practically everything was closed. so sad. but that just means we'll have to go again ;)
