red and white
lately i've been inspired by textiles in a big way. normally i work with paint color as my key inspiration point but textiles and patterns have been big for me lately. i love this bright red and white fabric at repro ($8.50 a yard)- bold, summery and perfect for pairing with black bamboo cane chairs. i'd love to recover my black dining room chairs with this- hmm, maybe i should. either way, i'm loving red and white this summer. it feels fresh, bold and awake.

so do you see a resurgence of red? perhaps fashion-driven this year? it's such a bold color to live with all the time...(this from someone who owns a red couch :)
i don't know- i'm seeing it in textiles a bit more. but it could be a color thing. however, for some reason i tend to have a pretty good eye for color trends. so maybe! it's certainly popping up in powder coated steel furniture and pillows...

I think red is back. I recently did posts on red chandeliers, red & white Hermes china, and red lacquer chairs -- not that red lacquer has ever really been out.
Anyway, I ADORE this fabric. So chic yet such a bargain. It would be amazing on black bamboo chairs.
Another amazing find :)
I love to use red in the home! It is a bold color to live with, but I think if you use it sparingly it looks wonderful. Too many red pieces and it becomes overload.
Love that fabric. Such a great pattern.
So speaking of red, I want to do a red cork tile floor for my new kitchen. Does anyone have suggestions on companies that sell cork tiles and have nice bold reds?

hopefully this might help?

Just another little observation about red with white and trends: the Anthropologie in my city has totally embraced the color combinaton -- stacks of red books, red chandelier, red glassware etc., mixed with all white dresses in the window.
i got totally suckered into that! i bought the white eyelet dress with red belt that was in the window of my nyc anthropologie. i love white and red. so crisp and clean.

That's one of the companies I looked at -- but none of their reds were red enough! Alas!
But thanks for the link.
Grace,
Loved the eyelet too! If you do opt to use the red/white print on your dining room chairs, I hope you will share pictures :)

Love this fabric. Thank you for all your reprodepot posts in past weeks. I've found so many great fabrics there...I can't wait to get sewing.
