selina rose
i was doing some research online this morning and stumbled upon the work of british textile designer selina rose (what a great name). rose runs her eponymous design studio in london and launched her first collection in early 2006.
rose creates intricately cut and printed textiles using industrial felt and techniques like water cutting. her work reminds me a bit of helen ige's velvet and metallic screenprint pillows, but i think there's plenty of room in the market for metallics on contrasting textiles. you can click here to find more information on selina rose and purchase at placesandspaces. (int'l shipping fees apply) enjoy!
[ps: i just got an email from catster- one of our cats, ms. jackson, is the cat of the day on the homepage!]

a couple of these pillows, especially the lower left bolster and the top two pillows in the stack in the first photo, reminded me of some cheap-looking pillows they had at IKEA for some time. i couldn't find them on the IKEA website any more. of course the IKEA ones didn't have horses or butterflies in a circle.
I tried adding Ms. Jackson to my cat's friend's list but no dice, you have your settings set so it can't happen it says. Boo!
i do? i'll see if i can change it. i haven't touched it since i set it up last year ;)

love the metallics.. and yay for ms. jackson!
I used to live in the UK and have never seen such unique and innovatively designed cushions in Ikea before; If I had I would have certainly have bought them so suggest that ‘Anonymous 2:13pm' does not know what they are talking about!
