amh design
i got two wonderful emails this weekend continuing with the mini-trend idea of stiching and textiles in design. brooklyn based designer amy holbrook sent me a link to her beautiful work that includes these really gorgeous notebooks and photo albums. i mentioned that my favorite part of the stitching trend was the warm, hand-made feel it gives objects and amy's work is a perfect example. each piece is colorful and modern, but with a needpoint detail that adds just a little extra warmth to each piece.
amy started her company, amh design, after she became addicted to needlepointing and realized she gravitated towards designs that were more functional than frivolous. so she created her debut collection which includes embellished photo albums and journals. the fun part is, amy sells these products in finished form, or in kit form (with instructions) so you can complete the project yourself. i think it's a FANTASTIC gift idea and a great way to spend a cool fall day. prices range from $38 for kits to $85 for finished items. you can click here to see amy's full collection and to shop online. enjoy!
