pare umbrellas

bunniesandflowers

the lovely satoko of pare umbrellas just sent over her new designs for the rainy season. i've been rocking my pare umbrella for a few months now and i can't tell you how many people stop me while i'm out and ask where it. these new designs are far too cute to pass up. beautiful color, stunningly decorated leather, plastic and wicker handles- just in time for fall rain showers. umbrellas are around $65-$85 a piece and i can't recommend them more highly- they're like tiny works of functional art. click here to browse and shop the full collection! i love the knitted and lace patterns- could embroidery, knitting, needlepoint and all of those sewing techniques be any hotter? [thanks, satoko!]

I aaaaalmost bought one of these the other day. Absolutely gorgeous! The only problem is that they are very much "fashion" umbrellas. Meaning that even the tag says that if it starts to rain pretty bad and gets windy, you should close the umbrella and store in a safe place. ??????!!!!!! I guess it wouldn't be much help if it actually rained! Although they ARE gorgeous!

Umbrellas are long overdue for a makeover. Your examples are very nice and once there is some awareness there may be other ideas. Of course they should be functional as well as pretty. But more than rain, I am seeing folks using them as sun protectors as well. I’m sure one could become a personal favorite and although a challenge to wrap, certainly delightful as a gift.

Wow, if I were to ever spend that much on an umbrella, that would certainly be the kind I'd do it on. The bunnies are darling.
