i was psyched to get an email from brooklyn based artist mac premo the other day about a project simply called book. mac and three other artists (2 in brooklyn, 2 in belfast, northern ireland) passed a sketchbook between themselves for 36 weeks. each person had 5 days to make a spread in response to the one that preceded it. and the result was a stunning book full of illustrations and paintings. hardcover editions of the book are available for sale right here. what a great idea for a unique holiday gift. this has early holiday gift to myself written all over it! what a cool idea. as always, thanks for passing along yet another great indie art/design tip.
oooh - i love that! my friends and i used to write short stories called '7 word stories.' we'd all use the same 7 words somewhere within our story and it was so great to see how diverse they could be. fun collaboration is always inspiring.

This looks like a beautiful volume; we will definitely be getting these for the store.
