framing heaven

ist2_533161_wooden_frame

sorry for the delay in posts. i've been out all morning at meetings and then i got lost in anthropologie buying a christmas party dress. but, i did manage to score the best framing resource i've ever come across. lindsey adelman suggested that i use sky frame and art in manhattan and i am so, so glad i took her up on it. i wanted to have 5 pieces framed (2 LARGE wallpaper strips, 2 small prints and one medium sized poster). i had it appraised at three places for over $900 which was of course way beyond my budget. i just got back from sky frame and the whole thing was $350. i owe lindsey big time. so, if you're in manhattan and need a great framing resource check out sky frame and art: 141 west 28th street, 12th floor. and, small world story of the year: i ran into a girl i went to elementary school with who works there. so, so weird.

[sorry for the ny only post, i hate doing that but this was too great to pass up]

Wow, that's nice to hear that they are budget friendly. I've heard great things about their quality (and Martha seems to love them, too) so I just assumed they were also expensive.

apparently they make all their frames on location (they have a HUGE selection) so that helps with the price. and they are doing all 5 prints in 2 weeks!

when i went to san art in park slope they wanted $900 for all of them and they said it would be at least a month or more. ugh.

Thank you so much for the tip. I'll be getting a print from Christopher Wilson soon, and need a frame!

A friend recommended Sky Frame to me as well, and I just got a beautiful photograph framed there for $100, significantly cheaper than anywhere else I had looked.
And the result is wonderful, beautiful, perfection, all I could have asked for. Sky Frame is awesome! I've been recommending them any chance I get.
Keep spreading the word.
