gift guide: h&g

untitled

a few of my h&g co-workers and i put together some gift guide slideshows on hg.com. i'll be making a much longer list by price in a few weeks but the hg staff worked really hard on these so i wanted to share them. there are seperate gift guides for: foodies, wine lovers, hipsters (this is me, i didn't choose that name), eco-lovers and gardeners. the garden list is stunning. click here to check them all out.

I'm sure the list/galleries are beautiful, but the pop-ups for Hyatt that show up each time I move to the next item in a gallery frustrated me so much that I stopped looking after the first 5 items. If those hadn't been in there, I'd have definitely stayed longer and looked through all of them. :(

i'm so with you. it's always the first thing i bring up whenever we have meetings but sadly marketing teams have an iron clad lock on those blasted pop ups. it bugs me when i read my own blog over there. i promise i'll keep needling them until they finally cave. sadly a large corp like that tends to keep little people like me away from any decisions like this...

sorry!

You know, I went back later and tried it using the "start" button rather the "next" button and it bypassed all the pop-ups. And anonymous, I *do* use Firefox - these pop-ups are likely flash-based. I get them on si.com and espn.go.com as well.

Grace,
Have you seen any fabulous potholders? Something modern and simple?

I know this is waaay too late, but I make and sell really unique potholders in my Etsy store: www.squaresville.etsy.com.
They are mostly recycled denim jeans and fabric scraps from my friend's clothing company. I also use vintage fabrics when I can.
