doe sf: missing family
jen at bunny and bee in sf passed along this sad news: the kim family (owners of the beautiful shop doe in sf) have been missing for several days and friends and family have set up a website for anyone who may have seen them or can help. this is such awful news and i'm hoping that wherever they are they are safe. our thoughts are with the kim family and friends and the staff at doe. click here for more information.

thanks for getting this news out to everyone. kati and james are neighbors of mine and their other store (Church Street Apothecary) is a fixture in the neighborhood. we are all worried and praying praying for their safe and quick return.
this is truly sad and i cannot stop thinking about them. my heart goes out to them. i'm keeping my thoughts positive and am hoping for the best.
wow, I had no idea. I live in Oregon not too far from where they were headed but inland and it has been all over our local news. Did not realize they were owners of Doe. The weather has been better for last few days after heavy snows, unusual for southern oregon. Am hoping they are stuck somewhere but okay. This same thing happened to a family last year and they were finally found okay.Will keep you posted if I hear anything locally.k
Thanks for posting this. Kati took a chance with our little design company when she opened Doe SF, and they're such a dynamic, open-hearted family, as well as great fans of independent designers. They're in my thoughts.
i live right next store to doe and just can't quit thinking of this sad news. the family is in my thoughts and prayers. i hope they are safe and will be found very soon.
It appears in the guestbook section like they have been found (mom and kids) - still looking for dad. Car accident in Grants Pass, OR. Prayers for the family and better news!
indeed... according to the press conference, kati and the girls are in a local hospital, and rescue crews are still searching for james. please keep praying for the whole family to come back together soon.
oh my god, thank you for the update, I've been obsessively keeping track of this story and hadn't heard the girls were found yet. I'm not a religious person but I can't stop thinking about and praying for this family for the last few days.

I just saw this on CNN Headline News. I was sad to hear they were/are still searching for the father of this family. I couldn't help but think that James Kim looked familiar until reading this post and doing a Google search. I watch his clips on CNET all the time. I hope he is ok and reunited with his family soon.
