in case you've noticed
one of our fellow design bloggers, victoria of sfgirlbybay has been hacked by someone trying to use her accounts to buy thousands of dollars worth of electronics. she's working to correct everything now and she's ok, but she asked if i would put a little note up that she hasn't been able to log in to blog or answer her gmail due to the hacking. so, if you're a fan of her site like i am, please send some good thoughts her way. she'll be back and blogging as soon as she can.

I did notice... but I assumed it was for pleasant reasons or regular business of the day-to-day. Really sorry to hear this. Hope it doesn't drag out to long and resolves well.
Thanks for passing along.
That's scary. Can you post some of the specifics? So many of us use Gmail and blogger, and it's frightening to think this can happen.
Hi Guys
I don't know any of the specifics and Victoria's got her hands full so I don't want to bug her for more info. I'm sure she'll post a full account of everything when she comes back. Always a good eye-opening reminder to have passwords that are hard to guess, use anti-spyware programs and stay on top of your online accounts for anything suspicious. ;)

oh that is AWFUL! I've had my site - persephone's awakening - hacked about three times. only the index pages, luckily. it's REALLY annoying though. the problem has been fixed in cpanel so it doesn't happen anymore... my heart goes out to you - yours borders more on identity theft. good luck!
Aw. Much luck with that! I hope everything gets resolved!
Geez. That wigs me out. Now I am afraid to continue blogging!
aw. that's horrible. I read her blog pretty often. I guess that's a reminder to the rest of us to change passwords often and use comment moderating on blogs.
thanks so much everyone for your support. and thank you Grace for letting everyone know what the heck happened to me. i very much appreciate it.
all's fine now, and sfgirlbybay is up and posting. and please don't be afraid to blog! the hacker got in through eBay, i believe. but make your passwords hard to figure out, use upper/lower case, add numbers, etc. and don't use same or similar passwords on all your sites. and it shouldn't be something could research on you, like your pet's name, or the street you love on. these are the tips eBay sent my way.
thanks again everyone.
