marimekko spring/summer 07

thanks so much to robin for the tip that the new spring marimekko fabrics are up. they're a feast for the eyes- click here for the full collection. i'm running out a mini biz ladies coffee with maria, lena and rena so i'll be back soon.

[biz ladies update: we will record the speeches and run them as podcasts on d*s so we can all benefit from their advice. i'll also provide downloadable printouts that highlight the basic "tips" from each expert]

Try Reprodepot Fabrics.

They are also pretty cool when asking for specific fabrics.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw them, so I did a little research. Textile Arts, which usually has the largest selection of Marimekko fabrics, will be receiving them shortly (they are in customs right now). Finn Style has a few options up, and seem to be adding more. I've ordered from both of these guys in the past, and they are great!

Quick question: where is the best place in NYC to see the 2007 collection of Marimekko fabrics? we stopped by the store on the upper east side and none of the fabrics we were interested will be available in bolts to see... were told we need to order 8 yards min to see the ones we like...service was terrible too...any ideas?

It's not quite a hop-skip-and-jump from New York, but regionally speaking, Marimekko Washington DC has a wall of fabric bolts - Ishimoto, Isola, Dahlstrom, Louekari, Daniellson . . .
