Ewa what's that got to do with this post???

This "Lotus" lamp looks a LOT like the Lotus lamp from Materialise/MgX Design by Janne Kyttanen (freedom of creation) turned upside down!!!! Janne has won numerous awards for this lamp which was first publicly recognized in 2003, but presented to Materialise way before they decided to put it into production...

Hmmm, a LOT like? Thats a stretch. Different materials. Different size. Floor light vs pendant light. Different petal shape. Different configuration. Thats like saying the zune looks a LOT like the ipod. Please.

2nd Anonymous,

Look at Lily, then. Same designer, same time period, just because one's not hanging doesn't take away the similarity... And I don't buy that just because something is in a different material it can't be visually similar to another design. Didn't say it was MADE with the same rapid prototyping and same materials, just said it looked the same. Sorry.
