sneak peek...figments
peggy lo, owner of providence design shop figments, was kind enough to share a sneak peek into her beautiful blue dining room. you can see a full sized photo right here and a description in peggy's words below. [thanks peggy!]
"Our small bungalow was built in 1935 by our neighbor's grandfather. When furnishing the space, we went to our dealer friend, Kevin Regan, who owns a great vintage modern furniture store, Acme, in Providence. The dining chairs were Eames knock-outs from the '50s. They were once classroom chairs and are extremely comfortable. The chair in the foreground is from IKEA. I covered it with fabric from Asia so it would look better. The pattern reminds me of Japanese designer, Mina Perhonen's work."

Gorgeous. It's as perfectly charming and colorful as her shop!
Crazy, i have 2 of the same chairs, this past november i picked up 2 eames knock offs when a guatemalan company had like 12 of the blue painted and birch ones.. they are super comfy..one has a 1963 date on the bottom
I miss figments! I'm a NY transplant from Providence. There are such great small stores hidden everywhere. NIce to see it on design sponge.
Grace, I thought you had mentioned recently that there was going to be a sneak peek of your place or am I making that up? I know you recently showed your SJP curtains and your reupholstered sofa. I was hoping to see your new OK wallpaper and your kitchen with your new kitchen knobs.
Beautiful is right. Uniquely charming.
i love that blue. for some reason i remember that wall as fuschia.
the upholstery fabric is gorgeous. will you be selling fabrics at figments anytime soon?
Azure amazing!
I am crazy in love with that shade of blue...
Loved the blue dinning room. Ikea chair totally transformed into something new and refreshing.
