sometimes i wonder why the heck ac and i haven't been to austin yet. i've been to west texas but never austin- which seems to be one of the coolest cities around. yesterday i received an email from kristi pruett who just opened what looks like an adorable new home boutique in austin, tx. kristi's shop, finch, carries a wonderful selection of designers like diana fayt, alex marshall, laura zindel, rae dunn, karin Eriksson and many, many more. i was taken with the tableware collection and the fact that kristi has edited with such a keen eye for handmade design. you can browse finch's collection right here or stop by 417 west 2nd street if you're in the austin area. thanks again to kristi for sending her lovely shop over.Labels: ceramics

thanks for posting about this boutique. i'm in austin and would love to check it out soon. you must visit austin--it's a hip "blue" city in a big "red" state. ;)

be sure to let us know if you do come down to the river city--you have lots of fans down here. This boutique and the Gardens design store are a must see! There's also a super vibrant vintage/secondhand store scene.

you should definitely get down there...i'm a texan and its one of my favorite cities to visit back home. the last time i was there, i stayed at the hotel san jose, which i highly recommend. such a cool, laid-back city.
Super store! My husband and I always wonder why we haven't been to Austin either and we've driven across the country 3 times!
Austin IS cool! I just moved here from Wisconsin and I couldn't be happier :) I will definetely be checking out Finch soon....

Finch is a wonderful store in the new 2nd street design district. A lot of the better, more design-y boutiques have moved down there, and it's where our DWR is. It's a great place to spend an afternoon with the sidewalk cafes and lovely things to buy.
If you're coming to Austin, be warned that the summers are excessively hot and humid. Come now or after September. :-p
