pink

mmmm....pink. i can't get enough pink right now. thankfully for ac the obsession if more of a visual one and less of a purchasing one. this lampshade by johanna basford at rockett st. george is just too pretty for words. it's available right here if you're feeling the pink love, too. pink not your thing? there's a gorgeous tangerine wallpaper panel right here. perfect for summer...

these are so lovely.

also...
i have a question : why are people so receptive to "bird inclusive designs" ?? i feel like so many designs would be better without a pointy beak.

how and why do you feel about the birds? you seem to use them; so i assume you enjoy them.

i'm glad someone has mentioned the birds. i think birds are on about 75% of this stuff.

is there any explanation?

anons (how come no one ever leaves their name?)-

i can only speak for myself when i say that i tend to be drawn the way something is drawn rather than the image itself. in the case of the eggs below i loved the way the artist drew each bird in a freehand way. however, the silhouette bird look is not appealing to me at all any more.

i hear from readers and people in the industry that birds appeal to them because they represent "nature" or a sense of "freedom". some people just dig birds in general. but i think the trend towards nature-inspired images in design means we'll be seeing birds and other animals for years to come.

as for anything being 75% birds- i dont think the site or the artist above are 75% birds. perhaps it feels that way but they're actually not. i think once someone is over a trend any mention of it seems like too much.

loving the pink! I've been totally into it all season. As for birds, I've found there are people who love them and those who totally hate them in textiles and prints.
