top design: hopeful?

i was always fond of felicia bushman on top design- to me she seemed to never quite hit her stride but always showed touches of great taste. after reading margaret russel's blog i found a link to felicia's site and it looks like she's got some great potential. i was really taken with her residential work (and the website design) but you can click here to browse her full collection. it's good to feel like someone from that show might have a bright future...[i hope we'll see more from goil in the future, he's my favorite despite his incessant whining. his pink glasses and love of dorothy draper won me over]

I liked Goil, too, as well as Felicia. And Heather - I really wish I could have seen some solo work of hers. I'm so glad Felicia is doing well.

I haven't really seen much good stuff from Goil, but granted, I haven't watched every episode. I think Matt is the best, and the tall brunette is also good.

grace, sometimes your comments are so back handed while your own perspective is (and defintely should) be developing. sometimes you sound like an old park ave hag. actually, i think you and margaret russel are a match made in heaven.

Grace,

I thought you didn't like the show. Didn't you claim after the 3rd episode to not tune in again? I am paraphrasing of course.

What's backhanded about that? She said the girl had talent. Lighten up, Anonymous. Why is it that the people with the loudest "opinions" never have the guts to use their real names and stand behind them? Real brave...

I actually think Goil shows the most promise and no, he doesn't have a site. Hopefully he'll have one when the show is over. He's such a cutie.

Go Goil!

Kate :)

i liked felicia's site. i especially love when designers show you a tour of their own home, because it shows what truly speaks to their heart.

goil's love for dorothy draper won me over too. i was so sad when his vision for the dorothy-draper style chandelier of bottles was transformed by andrea & matt. the end result of standing columns of bottles just made me sad.

i liked matt's "air" room (that was basically just like a kelly wearstler room) but i hated his room this week. it wasn't finished and i just wasn't inspired. i wish the gals were facing off. i liked andrea's room more than matt's this week.

Felicia's site looks good and is user friendly but the designs are generic. They remind me of a bowl of oatmeal, Tasty but boring.
She needs to add some bananas or cinnamon or something.

Felicia needs to get out of LA by the looks of things...her designs are truly horrible.
As for Margaret Russell and Elle Decor....I'm cancelling my subscription. The magazine is tacky, tasteless and after 10 months, I'm yet to see one inspirational design or idea.
