fabrics...

i mentioned it briefly before but this summer i'm redesigning d*s and moving off of blogger (to relaunch in september). i just sort of woke up one morning and decided that i needed a change, one that reflected my current interests in design. and while i'm at it, why not copy and reload images for over three years worth of posts during summer vacation? anyway, i'm working with texture in the design so i've been gathering fabric samples as inspiration. and for me, purl soho has been an endless source of inspiration. i'm loving their collection of japanese fabrics- this pattern by yuwa fabrics is my favorite. i love the tiny stitched squares- so subtle but so sweet. i'm also loving this simple stripe and the japanese abeille print. you can check out purl's full collection right here. if you're in ny be sure to swing by the store, it's a treasure trove of great fabric.

Congrats Grace, I'm so excited! Are you moving over to TypePad? It's so much better than blogger! Love the fabric, by the way. :)

You should take advantage of the power of social bookmarking with your new site.

You should also make some type of flash slideshow or something when you have a bunch of pics too. Easier for people to view then going to flickr and better than making them scroll through millions of photos.

Just my two tips for the day. :)
