sprout home: brooklyn!

yesterday i went up to williamsburg to check out the newly opened sprout home! sprout is one of my favorite shops in chicago so it's really fantastic to have a branch in brooklyn now. sprout found a seriously fantastic space on grand street between wythe and kent (right down the street from aurora and moon river chattel) that's full of light and has a beautiful ivy-covered brick backyard. as always, sprout is carrying a gorgeous array of plants and flowers as well as some quirky home accessories. my favorite part of sprout is the nursery in the backyard. the light out there was amazing and for those of you in brooklyn who consider yourself a backyard warrior- sprout is a must-visit. you can click here to visit their online store but if you're in the area i highly suggest stopping by. sprout home brooklyn is located at 44 grand street and they're open 7 days a week (718-388-4440). click here for a slideshow of the new space...

i thought the plant prices were pretty great actually. especially on the smaller pieces like succulents, etc. but i'm not a seasoned garden shopper so someone who is might have a different opinion. for me, a casual green-thumb shopper they seemed pretty good.

The plant prices at Sprout are probably a bit higher than average but I shop there b/c they have such a well edited selection and the plants they carry are interesting. We bought a dragon tree at the Chicago location last year and it's thriving!

yes, the L train at bedford avenue. i think that's the closest. but the JMZ at hewes would be walkable, too. L is your best bet though...
