marianne van ooij

slim

pratt grad and a freelance dutch industrial designer marianne van ooij will be debuting some really lovely modern shelves at icff this year (booth #101). from her brooklyn studio, van ooij is releasing slim: a wonderful alternative to clunky bookshelves. slim is available in aluminum or wood and is designed to store books in a way that forms a balanced visual composition. i'd love to have a few in our kitchen (if they'd fit) to display cook books and food magazines (which always have the loveliest covers). you can find more information on marianne right here. [thanks, marianne!]

I love the balance of strength and slim lines on these. Original, versatile, and I have to have one or more of these.

Awesome design. Finally the covers of the books matter again.
