Reclaimed Table_Zebra Chair

located in greenpoint, brooklyn, andre joyau studio is home to designer and woodworker andre joyau. self-taught and specializing in using reclaimed hardwoods and slabs of beautiful solid woods that are somehow flawed, andre gives "un-useable" pieces new life.

with a full line of lighting, furniture and children's furniture, the studio provides a wide range of options for those interested in unique wooden designs. i'm quite fond of their reclaimed hardwood table and zebrawood chairs- made entirely of recycled-hardwood beams, the table and chairs are available in ebonized, clear, and dark brown finishes. for more info on andre joyau studio, contact them at 20 van dam street, brooklyn, ny 11222; 718-963-2616. [thanks, elizabeth!]

In terms of using flawed wood, it reminds me of George Nakashima my personal favorite designer. I wonder if you know of any other projects inspired by, or strikingly similiar to him in terms of form or material. Thanks for the design candy, you inspire me.
